2024 Easter Reflection Booklet

This resource is intended for individuals, families, RCIA groups, parish organisations and ministries, small Christian communities and neighbourhood Christian communities to

  • promote the Christian community in the neighbourhood as a place where we can hear the word of God and put it into practice.
  • give participants an experience of community and a sense of their mission by reaching out to neighbours and those in need.
  • gather parish organisations/ministries to pray together as one and put Christ back in the centre.
  • increase communication between family members. Love should be the main message in all communication, so the sessions are aimed at families sharing stories, doing meaningful activities together, sharing faith, and being reconciled with each other.

These reflections may be used either:

  • Before participating in Sunday’s liturgy, to prepare to receive God’s Word at Mass
  • After participating in the liturgy as a continuation of ‘breaking open the Word of God’ in our lives.

Available in English and Mandarin versions, we hope that the reflections in this booklet will help us delve deeper into the Word this Easter season and Witness a New Life in Christ!

2024 New Wine Parish Conference

The WELCOMEUnlocking Heartfelt Hospitality in Your Parish

Everyone desires to find a place where they can feel welcomed and belonged. The parish as the gathering of God’s family should be such a place. However, the reality is that our lived experience of welcome sometimes falls short. The love of Christ through the community is not always felt, leaving us to wonder what being part of God’s family is really like.

So how can our parishes be more welcoming? And if we are all part of the church and God’s family, how can each one of us play our part to intentionally extend warmth and welcome to friends and strangers alike?

Join us as we seek to answer these questions and gain insights from our Conference speakers, so we can unlock heartfelt hospitality and be the welcome for others.

A Summary of Christifideles Laici

In October 1987, bishops from around the world gathered in Rome to discuss the role of the laity in the Church and in the world. From his reflections upon the discussions, Pope St John Paul II published Christifideles Laici on 30 December 1988. This document expresses a deeper understanding of the vocation of the laity and our importance in carrying out the mission given by Jesus Christ.

Pope St John Paul II was a modern prophet. More than 30 years later, his words are still as relevant as ever. With this booklet, we seek to unpack the treasures of Christifideles Laici and discover how we are called to contribute to building a vibrant, evangelising, and missionary Church here in Singapore and in the world.
